MEET Charlie Carricarte
Charlie Carricarte was born in Cuba and arrived in Coral Gables before his first
birthday in 1949.
Charlie graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s in marketing. After
spending 2 years as a United States Army Officer, he began his professional career
directing an independent insurance agency in Miami.
Not too long after, his love for boats and travel drove him to begin his career in the
marine industry. During this time he has taken part in many events, exhibitions and
courses involving industry leaders such as Bertram, Tiara, Hatteras and the Ferretti
Group brands.
Charlie began his yachting career in the 1980s with the world famous Bertram Yacht
Company based in South Florida. For 11 years he traveled the world as Bertram’s
director of international sales. He then spent 9 years with the Tiara Yacht Company
in the same capacity.
During his 20+ years of international experience, Charlie has been fortunate to visit
many countries and attend the majority of the major international marine exhibitions,
including the Genoa International Boat Show, which he participated in for 18
consecutive years.
He has accomplished many firsts and has received many performance awards for
yacht sales including the coveted Hatteras Yachts Circle of Excellence.
In 2001, Charlie transitioned to the retail side of the marine industry and moved to
MarineMax at their Coconut Grove location. After 5 years at MarineMax, he opened
Biscayne Yacht Sales. He now is excited to be part of the prestigious yacht brokerage
firm of Denison Yacht Sales.
Charlie’s specialty is sportfish and foreign and domestic cruising boats. He is an active
member of Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA), and he is fluent in English and
Spanish and speaks and reads Italian.
