Biography:
Award-winning author Liese Sherwood-Fabre knew she was
destined to write when she got an A+ in the second grade
for her story about Dick, Jane, and Sally’s ruined picnic. She
has recently turned a childhood interest in Sherlock Holmes
into an as-yet unpublished series on the young detective and
his unusually gifted family. Her research into Victorian Eng-
land enabled her to write short essays related to various as-
pects of the times when Sherlock Holmes solved his myster-
ies.

Most recently, she contributed two articles in a soon-to-be-
released essay collection on the women in the original Sher-
lock Holmes stories. Villains, Victims, and Violets: Agency and
Feminism in the Original Sherlock Holmes Canon explores
Holmes’ world through the lives of the women who occu-
pied it: the villains driven astray; the victims he rescued; and
the strong, pivotal Violets from his most unforgettable
cases. Available in late July/early August from Brown-
Walker Press.
