Why did you decide to write romance novels?
I like romance and mysteries, so I write a
combination of the two—romantic com-
edy mysteries. And I like to write short
stories, so I write romantic comedy short
stories.
Do you feel humor is important in fiction and
why?
I do! When I first read a funny romance, I
liked it a lot. My friend says humor is a
natural progression of my personality.
Can you describe the funniest thing that ever
happened to you?
My (most embarrassing) funniest thing
was agreeing to represent a friend’s shop
as Miss Oak Lawn Moped. I wore a swim-
suit and paraded in front of celebrity
judges. The blonde with the cornrows
won. Never, ever again would I do that. I
did use the experience to write a great
short story.

If you came with a
war ning label,
what would it say?
Sassy and funny.
How many books
have you written,
and how many
have been pub-
lished?
I have had three
books and approximately thirty-five short
stories and essays published. I’ve had a
great journey. And more will come!
