I try to visualize the scene as I write it . That helps me keep my POV straight . A good way to practice this is to take the scene with too many POV ’ s and try writing it in just one . Yours . First person will show you what your character can see , feel , smell , taste and hear . It ’ s a great way for you to keep that POV clean and will help you make sure you use the right POV in every scene you write .

Barbara Bradley is an author and editor , a mom , a wife , and a caregiver for her mother who has dementia . She is an award winning author and so are some of the authors she ’ s edited over
