An Excerpt
“They‟re here.” Kate Schubert rushed across the lobby of the
Cast Net Hotel. Her fiancé Dave Morrissey was right on her
heels. She had scarcely been able to concentrate on her duties as
the manager all day.
The sliding glass parted, and a blast of warm air entered
along with Kate‟s family. Annette Schubert was the first to reach
her elder daughter and wrap her in a hug.
“I can‟t believe I‟m here in Florida and that you‟re getting
married in a week. Has Dave‟s mother arrived yet?”
Kate shook her head. “She was giving a speech at one of her
conventions today.”
“So, she‟s still involved in that fake science. Crypto some-
thing?”
“Cryptozoologist. Please don‟t say anything in front of Dave.
He loves her, but the whole thing mortifies him.”
“I imagine it does. I hope I don‟t have to spend that much
time with her.”
