gal little robot on his ship that was smart
enough to direct him to the truth to save all of
them. A robot that called him mom, a beauti-
ful sexy jewel thief, and a universal enforcer
who was willing to break the rules equaled trin-
ity.
An Excerpt
Derik opened his eyes and knew he was still alive.
He tried to roll over among the debris of his Skitter craft. He
saw two things as he felt all his bruises. One was the distant trail
of parts from his craft, and two was the girl he had arrested.
He was grateful that she was also alive, but then he started
repeating inside his mind as he tried to get out from under some
large piece of metal. Don’t run, don’t run, please don’t run. But of
course, she stood, looking down at him and then ran. Damn.
The crash was her fault; everything was her fault, as this had
been the worst pick-up he had been assigned in his years as a top
regulator Enforcer.
