SWEET LOVE, BITTER FRUIT
By: Lyndell Williams
The Plot:
From award-winning author Lyndell
Williams, a new novel about keeping the
flames of love and passion burning in a
world determined to snuff them out.
Steamy is the best word to describe
the Kents.
After work, lawyer Marcus wants
nothing more than to pull wife, Toni—his
“Sweetness”—into his arms. He knows
exactly how to make every inch of her hot
body shiver under his touch. He is willing
to do everything in his power to make her
happy, except one.
Leaving her downtown practice, psychologist Toni heads
uptown to curl up with Marcus, her sexy, younger husband.
Their fiery passion is usually fully ablaze, until she makes a de-
mand that threatens to snuff it out.
***** Review by The Road Less Read: “Sweet Love, Bitter
Fruit was an emotional rollercoaster. There‟s depth, there‟s
steamy passion, and there‟s genuine love.”

Machines beeping, people talking, moaning and crying
flooded his ears. Is this where he was supposed to lay the most
important person in the world to him? It wasn‟t fair.
“Don‟t cry, Marc,” Toni whispered while sliding her thumb
over his cheek. He gazed into her dark brown eyes. Tiny veins of
red meandered through their white irises and stung his soul. She
pulled her cracked lips into a grin. “I‟ll be fine.”
He sniffed. The tears were beyond his control, like every-
thing else. He filled his lungs and grinned past the agony racking
his body and heart. “Yeah, I know you will be.” He lifted his
gaze and continued to carry her through the hallway. If anything
happened to her, his life was over. She was all he needed. Noth-
ing or no one else mattered. There was no way a baby was worth
it.
