The Denison family has been a mainstay in the yachting industry for almost 70 years. In 1948, Frank Denison
founded Broward Marine, which within 10 years, became the largest employer in Broward County, Florida, and
soon after opened another shipyard in Saugatuck, Michigan.
For the last half of the 20th century, Broward Marine constructed more luxury yachts over 70 feet than any
other manufacturer in the world. From 1983 to 1993, Frank’s son Kit, built Denison Motor Yachts, noted for
making the most 100-foot yachts over 30 knots. In 1993, Broward took over the Denison Marine shipyard in
Dania, Florida, and in 1998, Frank sold Broward. Shortly thereafter, Kit’s son, Bob, took over the brokerage
company, Denison Yacht Sales, and has expanded it every year since, to its present position as one of the
world’s largest international brokerage and charter operations.
