ABOUT PATRICK As a young man Patrick used to hear great tales of the ocean from an even greater man. This man was his grandfather Lieutenant Commander Arthur Hopkins of the US Navy. In his final tour at sea he was Admiral Byrd’s personal physician aboard the USS Philippine Sea on an expedition to Antartica. The stories about this trip from equator crossings, freezing temperatures and the unimaginable sea states made Patrick’s imagination run wild. This inspired Patrick to join the United States Coast Guard after high school. Performing missions of Search and Rescue, maintaining Aids to Navigation and security patrols in New York Harbor. With every moment the passion he felt born with continued to grow. With over 100,000 miles at sea Patrick left the USCG after 4 years to work in the marine industry. Starting with bottom painting, scraping barnacles, washing and waxing boats to assistant yard manager and eventually head of sales and brokerage. It was a long path fueled by a passion for the water and more importantly people. Patrick’s understanding of the yacht industry comes from holding almost every position in it and facilitating deals where his devotion to his clients is second to none. DENISON OFFICE JERSEY CITY Patrick was instrumental in managing the surveys, sea trials and bringing together all the tasks that went into our purchase. Then when we needed help piloting the boat from Barrington RI to Liberty Landing Marina, Patrick volunteered to captain for us to make sure our trip was a success. I MY BROKER Even after we dropped off Patrick at Liberty Landing, Patrick made a number of follow-up calls to check on our progress as we made our way to our home port of Alexandria Bay in the Thousand Islands. Should we consider purchasing another boat in the future, we would certainly work with Patrick as he has proven himself an excellent broker and an outstanding person. 4 If meet someone looking for a yacht broker, my first recommendation would be Patrich as he has not been just a broker for us, but a friend.
