tricycle, ride-on) industry is currently in its momentum stage.
The market has been boosted by entry of several international
players such as Chicco, Graco, Hauck, Jane and many others
while online retail space dominated by Firstcry and Babyoye,
Hopscotch and others have initiated a next wave of
development. Presence of these online players in the offline
space with the presence of 450+ points of sales has also
supported the momentum in this market. The market is mainly
import driven (especially prams/strollers and EROs) where
people import the products and sell by the names of their
respective brands/labels. Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune
Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad are considered as
important toy manufacturing clusters in India.
Organized players in the space tend to follow regional
distributor cum direct retail distribution channel (online+
MBO/EBO) in order to maximize revenue. Within the offline
retail segment, Mom and Pop stores accounted for the highest
share during FY’2017. On the other hand, overall sales through
EBOs are less as not many brands in the country have their
own exclusive outlets. Only a few brands such as MeeMee and
Chicco have their own EBOs in the country.
Baby walkers have also witnessed significant growth over the
period FY’2012-FY’2017. In countries such as Canada, baby
