HOCKEY versatility was a massive asset to the team and he always put in good performances in whichever position he had to play .
N Ndlovu : He was the perfect example of an impact player . Every time he set foot on the field , he brought a good level of energy and excitement and always gave his very best .

U14B
Messrs B Swart and R Jones
The U14B hockey team had a brilliant season . The boys worked tirelessly to improve their game , individually and as a team . The results achieved were a good reflection of their work ethic and commitment to each other . They were such a pleasure to coach – not just because they loved the game , but also because they were a great group of boys who were willing to put in the effort , and smile while doing it . The team was very ably led by K Tullis .
A highlight of the season was beating a very good PBHS team 6-0 . The skill and awareness shown on the field was inspiring , especially considering the age group of the boys . The boys should be complimented not just for their on-field efforts but also for their behaviour off it . They were humble in victory and consistently polite . I received many compliments from host parents regarding the impeccable manners of these young College boys . The team can be very proud of themselves and I am certain many of them will continue to rise up the ranks and make significant contributions to College hockey .

U14C
Mr C Lang
Congratulations on a season filled with spirit and fun . A lot of learning about this fantastic game took place and what an encouragement it was to see the transformation in the team from first term to third term . Lessons learnt were that hockey is more about structures and basics and that eleven players make up a ‘ team ’. The boys realised that one needs to strategise and think on the field all the time .
It is never easy to play in a team at this level with the constant movement of players amongst the teams . Well done to those boys that did manage to progress to higher teams . Thanks to some brilliant performances and hard work we were able to rise from some tough situations . The standout games would have to be a fantastic display of team play for a win against KES and the opening match on Pape ’ s for Reunion against Michaelhouse U14B , and a great win . Thanks to J Cummings for his leadership and the general enthusiasm from all the boys . Practice time was never dull .

U14D
Mr D Larter
One does not know of the energy and enthusiasm displayed by U14 hockey players until one coaches this age group . From the day of trials until the final game against Glenwood their attitude remained constant . During the season every player excelled , making his own contribution to the success of the team . The team had three high scoring games against Grey College , KES and Glenwood owing to this team effort . A du Preez , X Pretorious and G Nel emerged as the season ’ s top scorers . R Vincent captained the team in a mature and responsible manner , always leading by example .
On a personal note , I would like to express my sincere thanks to P Fisher and M Horan who assisted with the coaching throughout the season . The fact that a senior player and also a member of the 1st team supported a junior team had an enormous impact on these young players . I would also like to thank Mr D Larter who stepped in to assist when surgery put me out of action , and then to all the parents who supported the team week after week , a big thank you .

Mrs J Orchard
U14E and U14F
The U14E and F hockey squad had a very short but productive season in which they put together a brilliant set of results . Despite the many changes in the teams , with injuries and the promotion of our best performers to higher teams the boys always gave their best and their passion and commitment was ever present . The records state : played ten , won six , drew one and lost three .
We all enjoyed the season which seemed to end too soon . I was impressed with the growth and development of these boys and it gave me great joy seeing them enjoying hockey . Many of them have a lot of potential , and I hope they will all work hard and reach it . I would like to thank all the parents that gave the boys support , home and away – it was really appreciated . I wish all these boys the best for the future and hope that they go far in hockey .
