The Quilotoa is a boiler full of water 3 kilometers wide that was formed by the collapse of this dacite volcano followed by an eruption of VEI-6 about 812 years ago

Since then the boiler has accumulated a crater lake 250 meters (820 feet) deep, and whose dissolved minerals have given it a greenish tone.
