In 2012 Martinez auditioned for the third season of The Voice. Martinez auditioned singing "Toxic" by Britney Spears, and she chose Adam Levis to be her coach. In the battle round, Martinez sang Ellie Goulding song "Lights". Martinez won and moved on to the knockout round. Martinez moved on and chose to sing "Bulletproof" vs James Levine. She eliminated James, and again Melanie was moved on to the live rounds as one of five remaining members of team Adam. In week of the live rounds, Melanie sang "Hit The Road Jack" the public voted to save her. Unfortunately Martinez was eliminated by the audience in week five, Melanie said, "I never expected to get this far and this is beyond what I've dreamed of".
After the show Martinez began working on original material. She spent the majority of 2013 writing said material. She did a little tour singing songs she had written and some covers of songs that she really liked. In 2015 Melanie put out her single, "Dollhouse" that managed to reach a large number of reproductions. She continued writing songs and finally decided to create her new album called "Cry Baby" The album contained 13 tracks. The most famous are "Carousel" Dollhouse" "Mrs. Potato Head" and "Soap".
In conclusion, some people think Melanie does not have talent but in my opinion she is very talented. She has a very beautiful voice and she has a great talent when writing her songs since she writes them with a very deep meaning. She is the best because she was interested in music, since she was a child. She was a contest in the show "The Voice" and continued her career writing new music and creating a short tour. That's why she is the best and although she did do not win in "The Voice" never gave up and followed her dreams to achieve them.
