2022 – A Brave New World
Nearly 2 years on , it is still surreal when we look back on what has happened .
All of us at TWT sincerely hope all our friends and colleagues in the trade are fit and well .
For sure it ’ s been a crazy time in our industry with both retail & wholesale suffering massively . The positive news is that we are all still here . TWT has managed to weather the storm and we are now looking forward to the challenges 2022 will bring and there are plenty of them !
As widely publicised , we are experiencing price rises , shipping and manufacturing delays , all of which are out of our control . I am liaising weekly with our suppliers about the shorter working weeks being imposed in China due to power limitations . The shipping delays are due to log jams at ports , and container boxes not being available . Lack of HGV drivers pushing prices up , with material and labour costs on the increase also .
All the above feels like a perfect storm of challenges and of course Covid is still with us .
Whilst we all have very little influences on all these factors , what we have done at TWT is planned well in advance for 2022 , with an optimistic view that it will be a good year for all of us . There is still plenty of desire to get out there and participate in sports , activities & hobbies which in turn lead to trophies being ordered , not to mention the corporate sector being rewarded for their efforts .
We are stocking for a bumper year for 2022 . As already mentioned , we are keeping in touch with our established supply chain throughout the pandemic and have placed substantial orders early .
Behind the scenes , we may experience delays , but front facing we are confident you will still receive the same high level of service and supply you have come to expect as a TWT customer .
