MINDFUL MARCH 2020 was like driving at high speed , without brakes , or lights , on a never-ending dark , winding road . Whew ! We made it . In 2021 we must remind ourselves to slow down . Breathe . Honor a deliberate commitment to be gentle with ourselves and one another . Practice a certain stillness we just could not afford last year . This year must be different . Beginning with Mindful March . Find your favorite way to reduce stress . Carve out time to improve your wellbeing .

As the days lengthen and the sun reappears , plan some time outside with a leisurely stroll around campus . Sit in a quiet space with a good book while enjoying a cup of tea . Have a conversation with your favorite people and remind them they are loved . Whatever you decide , do something daily that warms your heart , makes you smile , or even causes a big belly laugh . Something that extends kindness to another person . Soon , we will be able to have our arms around one another . In the meantime , having our hands on each other ’ s backs supporting one other is a good start .
