The most recent two years of PDJ remain a member-only benefit and will continue to require members to login. Content featured in these issues will be highlighted on ADA Commons and linked directly to the Pennsylvania Dental Association’ s website. After two years, these past issues will convert to a full text download on ADA Commons without requiring login.
Past issues may be found via the drop-down menu at left under“ Select an issue.” You can explore the most-read articles in a publication simply by clicking“ Most Popular Papers” on any page. This provides a list of those items most downloaded by readers.
Articles in ADA Commons are searchable by using the database’ s built-in search bar, located in the menu on the left-hand side. Any topic, keyword or name searched on ADA Commons will return articles and full issues with those words or phrases, whether they appear in the title, text, abstract or keywords provided by the journal’ s editor or author. Articles may also be searched using Google, Google Scholar, Bing and other major search engines.
If you are searching for all works by a particular author across the entire ADA Commons database, you may find them listed in the“ ADA Commons Authors” section on the landing page for ADA Commons. This database only includes articles from participating societies; article listings may not be inclusive of everything written by that author.
Let’ s say you wish to search for a particular topic in the PDJ collection. First, navigate to the collection you wish to search. Once the site is live in April, PDJ will be listed in the State and Local Dental Publications section. On the PDJ landing page, use the search bar found in the left menu under“ Find,” enter a keyword, name or phrase. This will return a prioritized list of results published in PDJ.
