Congratulations Dr . Saniya Setia – 2023 ADA 10 Under 10 Award
PDA is proud to congratulate our Dr . Saniya Setia for being one of the recipients of the ADA ’ s prestigious 10 Under 10 Award for 2023 .
Dr . Setia practices in Marysville and is a member of PDA ’ s Membership Committee . She has a passion for philanthropy that led her to serve in public health and care for the underprivileged .
“ Receiving this recognition is a symbol of respect , acknowledgement and acceptance of a greater responsibility that encourages me to contribute even more towards the upliftment of the health of our society ,” Dr . Setia said . “ I aspire to lead by example and motivate my peers and young dentists through my career journey , showing them the essence of persistence , fortitude and excellence in work ethic .”
A native of Chandigarh , India , Dr . Setia graduated at the top of her class from Gian Sagar Dental College and Hospital . After being the only student in India to be awarded an International Certificate of Merit for her contributions towards dental literature , academics , and community service in 2013 , she moved to the United States to further her education and training , receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado where she graduated in 2016 with honors and induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor society . She became one of the youngest recipients to be given an honorary Fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy for her contributions , which is by invitation only .
Developed by the ADA New Dentist Committee in 2017 , the 10 Under 10 Award recognizes 10 dentists who graduated from a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation less than 10 years ago . In announcing the 2023 recipients , ADA said , “ We ’ re celebrating dentists who demonstrate excellence and inspire other in science , research & education , practice excellence , philanthropy , leadership and advocacy .”
