White Coat Ceremony Features Pain Care Pledge™
Pitt School of Dental Medicine ’ s White Coat Ceremony on March 5 featured the Pain Care Pledge™ , the school ’ s inaugural ceremony to have the pre-doctoral students ( the class of 2024 ) take the pledge that correlates with The Guidelines for Prescribing Pain Medications . ™
All of this has now been incorporated into student and resident training as part of the Pitt curriculum as standard protocol . This important training represents a dramatic change in the way that clinicians can prudently manage a patient ’ s pain following a procedure , or as part of ongoing treatment .
