G ove r n men t Re lat ions Just as campaign contributions are the lifeblood of a political campaign so is a PADPAC contribution to your PAC. Your valued contributions are what we use to impact the electoral landscape for the benefit of you and your patients. This year we are having a PADPAC contributor appreciation event August 23, 2019 at a Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds game in one of the suites. Every PAC member who contributes $500 or more will be eligible to attend. We will be holding a similar event at a Philadelphia Phillies game in 2020. Please encourage others in your profession to join PDA and PADPAC. When you contribute to PADPAC please pay with a personal check or credit card because if you pay via a corporate card or check it limits PDA’s strategic flexibility. We know that making personal contributions (hard dollars) is a sacrifice. We take that sacrifice very seriously by only spending your hard earned dollars where necessary. The truth is, we need hard dollars to win. In order to compete with the insurance lobbyists, one of the most formidable opponents in Pennsylvania politics, we need hard dollars to support those elected officials who believe in you and support you. If you don’t want to make a lump sum contribution you can make monthly contributions, 8 MA R CH/A P R I L 2019 | P EN N S YLVA N IA D EN TA L J O UR N A L which may be easier or more convenient for you. If you choose the monthly contribution, by the end of the year you will have made a significant contribution toward your PAC. $100 per month for 12 months is over $1,000. That’s only a little over $3 a day. $50 per month per month for 12 months is $600. That’s less than $2 a day. The day to day impact on you is pretty minimal but the end of the year contribution to the PAC is a major help in moving your agenda forward. That type of contribution makes a big difference in strengthening your PAC and allowing us to have greater access and more decisive input into the various campaigns we contribute to. Here are the club levels: President’s Club $2,500+ Liberty Club $1,000-$2,499 Capitol Club $500-$999 Keystone Club $200-$499 Century Club $120-$199 If you have any questions about making a contribution to PADPAC, please contact John Basial at jpb@padental.org or (800) 223-0016, ext. 108.
