The Business Person of the Year Award
is presented annually to an individual
who has positively contributed to the
betterment of Dublin. The recipient
demonstrates superior leadership and
service and helps to make this community
a better place to live and work.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce board
of directors is proud to announce that
Lisa Armitage, owner of Goldfish Swim
School, has been selected to receive
Dublin’s 2019 Business Person of the
Year Award. The business community
is invited to join the Chamber as Lisa is
presented with this award on March 19
from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Columbus Marriott
Northwest, 5605 Blazer Parkway in Dublin.

Lisa believes her business has a
responsibility to educate parents in
the central Ohio community about the
importance of water safety to prevent
drowning. Goldfish Swim School has
conducted more than 1,200 free water
safety presentations, reaching 25,000
children throughout central Ohio, including
children at local school systems, as well as
at many private preschools and childcare
centers.
Lisa also gives of her time and resources
to support many community service
initiatives, and to that end, she encourages
staff and the families they serve to become
involved as well. During the past three
years, the Goldfish Swim School team has
participated in more than 400 community
events including the Dublin Chamber’s
Community Champion Awards, Nationwide
Children’s Hospital Circle of Friends Run for
Lisa is committed to
making a difference in the
communities she serves...
the Rainbow, Dublin Arts Council D’Art 5K;
Columbus Zoo Safari 5K; Lifeline of Ohio
Mascot Dash, The Alpha Group of Delaware
Annual Delaware Duck Race; the World’s
Largest Swim Lesson with Zoombezi Bay;
and the Dublin Kiwanis Frog Jump.
“Lisa is committed to making a difference in
the communities she serves,” states Sharon
Kendall, Dublin Chamber board president.
“And this can be seen through the time
she spends in the community through
her educational programs, and the way
she encourages others around her to get
involved and give back.”
Lisa Armitage opened her first Goldfish
Swim School in Dublin in 2014, and the
business continues to grow and thrive with
two additional locations in central Ohio.
Goldfish Swim School has been named
‘’Best Place to Work’’ by Columbus Business
First in 2017 and 2018.
