PDA 150TH ANNIVERSARY
As our seventh editor, Dr. Marvin Sniderman, wrote in his January / February 1983 editorial(“ Dental Journalism – Then and Now”):
“ We should be especially proud in Pennsylvania to have one of the longest continuously published state journals in the country. It is indeed a tribute to the officers and leaders of our profession to have had the foresight to begin our publication. And as we complete 50 continuous years we salute the officers and trustees who have given us guidance, and especially the editors who have faithfully kept the PDA Journal going … Let us hope that 50 years from now, those who follow us will keep the faith.”
Dr. Thomas Gamba, PDA President 2008-2009
I first got involved with PDA because of my dad – he was a dentist and always stressed with me the importance of giving something back to the profession, because it has treated us so well. As a matter of fact, my dad and I along with the Lathrops were the only fathers and sons to be Presidents of the PDA.
