March 2026 Cake! Magazine | Page 46

I have been creating cakes since 2020, and over the past six years it has been important to me to continually develop my skills— whether through selfteaching or by learning from the many inspiring artists within our cake decorating community. I strongly believe that education, practice, and sharing knowledge are essential in growing as an artist and developing your own creative voice.
This piece was created as part of an online workshop through Ekat’ s Cake Academy. The ornate vase was sculpted in fondant and finished with airbrushing to highlight depth, texture, and detail— techniques I particularly enjoy incorporating into my work. The style of the design allowed me to lean into my passion for handcrafted sugar flowers, arranged for movement and drama, subtly complemented by a few delicate wafer paper accents for lightness.
At the heart of my work is a passion for pushing creative boundaries and continually exploring new techniques. I love sharing that journey with the cake decorating community, hoping that each piece not only showcases what’ s possible in sugar artistry, but also encourages others to keep learning, experimenting, and finding their own creative voice. https:// www. instagram. com / cakes _ on _ fridays / https:// www. facebook. com / cakesonfridays
