M. Vargas was presented with the HomeSafe Hero Award at HomeSafe’ s Classic Rock and Roll Party held on January 24, 2026, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The annual award celebrates supporters whose leadership and contributions have significantly advanced HomeSafe’ s mission of providing support and healing for victims of child abuse and domestic violence. As President of the Board of Directors for HomeSafe, Mr. Vargas has played a pivotal role in guiding the organization’ s strategic direction and strengthening its impact throughout Palm Beach County. He has provided steadfast leadership, governance, and advocacy in support of the organization’ s mission to protect, heal, and empower children and families affected by abuse and trauma.
Lesser, Landy, Smith & Siegel, PLLC is pleased to announce that Austin R. Diaz has joined the firm as an attorney in its West Palm Beach office. Diaz focuses his practice on catastrophic personal injury and complex civil litigation, including vehicular negligence, trucking, maritime, premises liability, products liability, construction defect, negligent security, and medical malpractice matters in both state and federal courts. Diaz previously worked at one of Florida’ s most prominent insurance defense firms, where he represented insureds and carriers in highstakes litigation. He then spent several years litigating plaintiff personal injury cases at a boutique law firm in West Palm Beach. Diaz is licensed to practice in all County and Circuit Courts in Florida, as well as the Florida Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is an active member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, where he serves on the Judicial Relations and Law Related Education committees. He is an Executive Board Member of the Craig S. Barnard American Inn of the Court, and a member of The Florida Bar’ s Young Lawyers Division.
Jones Foster is proud to announce the elevation of two attorneys following the firm’ s Annual Shareholders Meeting. Trust and estate litigation shareholder Zachary M. Rothman was elevated to an officer of the firm, while litigation and land use attorney Brett T. Lashley was appointed a shareholder. Zack Rothman represents trustees, personal representatives, courtappointed administrators, beneficiaries, and creditors in complex litigation involving estates, trusts, guardianships, and fiduciary disputes. He also advises clients on all aspects of probate, trust, and guardianship administration. Brett Lashley focuses his practice on general commercial litigation, with an emphasis on employment, real estate, and municipal law. He also serves as legal counsel to the Towns of Lake Park, Jupiter, and Palm Beach, advising municipal clients on code enforcement proceedings, planning and zoning matters, and town commission meetings.
