NHDOT Leadership Breakfast January 20, 2026 Grappone Center, Concord, NH
The ASCE New Hampshire Section co-hosted the 2026 NHDOT Leadership Breakfast with ACEC-NH on Tuesday, January 20, at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord. The event brought together engineers, transportation professionals, and industry leaders from across the state for a morning of discussion and insight into the future of transportation in New Hampshire.
for both roadway workers and the traveling public. The conversation highlighted the critical role that collaboration between public agencies and private-sector partners plays in maintaining and improving New Hampshire’ s transportation infrastructure.
The program featured a panel discussion with NHDOT Commissioner Bill Cass, Assistant Commissioner Dave Rodrigue, and Director of Project Development Tobey Reynolds. Drawing on their decades of experience in transportation and public service, the panel shared reflections on lessons learned throughout their careers and offered perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the department today.
Key topics included the continued challenge of transportation funding, staffing needs within the department, and efforts to attract and retain the next generation of engineers and transportation professionals. The panel also discussed potential changes in tolling legislation and emphasized the importance of work zone safety
This year’ s event also marked an important leadership transition for NHDOT. Commissioner Bill Cass, who has served the department for decades and led the agency since 2021, retired at the end of February. On March 4, Assistant Commissioner Dave Rodrigue was confirmed as the new Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. The ASCE New Hampshire Section congratulates both Commissioner Cass on his distinguished career and Commissioner Rodrigue on his appointment and continued leadership of the department.
