12 th ANNUAL ASCE SKI & BOARD DAY!
ASCE hosted the 12 th annual ski & board day at Loon Mountain Resort on February 6 th. The day started with a breakfast and networking in a private lodge. Once the gear was on, everyone headed to the slopes. The conditions were great and fellow ASCE members were seen all over the mountain.
After a morning session on the slopes, Kurt Nelson of Eversource Energy provided a lunchtime presentation about Eversource ' s X-178 transmission line rebuild project. It ' s a 49-mile long 115kv line that runs from Campton to Whitefield and winds through the White Mountain National Forest. The project has faced significant regulatory challenges and will be utilizing helicopters and drilled mini-piles for structure construction in mountainous areas during the winter months.
In the afternoon, it was time for more slope time and Après ski! The conditions held up and the lift lines stayed short throughout the day.
