Party for Peace
The Nonviolence Institute hosted Invest in Peace , its fifteenth annual Beloved Community celebration , at Farm Fresh Rhode Island in Providence . Recognizing “ the power of place ,” the organization honored Marta Martínez , executive director of Rhode Island Latino Arts and the visionary behind La Broa ’, while also paying tribute to the institute ’ s partnership with College Unbound . With a silent auction , raffles , food and drink , the event raised $ 105,000 toward the institute ’ s mission to provide high-quality nonviolence training and care . — EMILY DEROEHN
