When contributing writer John Taraborelli stopped by the Rhode Island College Recreation Center to greet the film crew working on campus ( he works at RIC ), he didn ’ t expect to find his next story [“ The Opportunity of a Lifetime ”]. But when he discovered that local filmmakers Chad Verdi Jr . and Paul Luba were shooting a Lifetime movie — and have created a cottage industry of developing “ woman-in-peril ” thrillers for the cable TV network — he was intrigued . “ Chad and Paul have done more than just carve out a niche for themselves ,” he says . “ They ’ re building a foundation for a film industry in Rhode Island that ’ s more active than waiting for the next Ella McCay or Good Burger 2 to roll into town … Oh , and when in doubt , the husband probably did it .”

Photographer Andrew Moran captured behind-the-scenes filming with his camera for “ The Opportunity of a Lifetime .” He has covered everything from punk bands in basement shows to Grammy Award-winning musicians , but always wanted to work on a movie set . “ As someone who often watches movies and TV with the volume turned down low to get a better grasp of the creative process , I learned that there is simply no substitute for being right there on a live set .”
