A Note From The Editor :
It ' s always such a pleasure reading about the different ways people share their generosity and love with animals . Most of the 14,000 plus shelters and rescues in this country are overwhelmed and underfunded , and have their hands full just taking care of unwanted pets day in and day out . Sometimes , though , one of them has the time , energy , and funding to do something more incredible than that , which is amazing enough . Bogey ' s Buddies in Bartow , Georgia is one of those rescues . Jo ' El , the rescue ' s founder , recently bought a bus and travels to shelters for people during these cold winter months , to provide a warm space for their pets to go . Oftentimes , people experiencing homelessness will sleep out in the cold rather than go to a shelter because their pets are not allowed in . So Jo ' El decided to do something about that . She outfitted the bus she purchased to care for dozens of dogs and cats and allow them to sleep there on frosty nights . She and several volunteers actually stay on the bus with them . Giving this option to homeless people is a game changer . Knowing their beloved pets are safe and comfortable allow them to be , as well . Hopefully , this wonderful idea catches on !
