KELLS Boys & Girls Aid:
This year the Cypress Branch is celebrating its 35th anniversary of making a difference in championing Boys and Girls Aid by holding THE DINNER on Saturday, March 15 here in Charbonneau in the Clubhouse. Tickets are $ 65 per person or $ 500 for a table of eight people. You can get tickets by going to www. boysandgirlsaid. ejoinme. org.
An interesting fact is that Boys & Girls Aid is celebrating 140 years of service. They have placed more than 100,000 children with permanent families through adoption. Each year, they serve close to 250 children each year to find their forever families. This group has done so much in breaking the cycle of foster care and preventing youth homelessness. I know that if you attend this wonderful event, you will leave feeling really good.
The evening starts with checking out all the tables filled with a wide variety of wonderful Silent Auction items, and if you should be the high bidder, it will be yours, so bid high and help the kids. Then you will be seated at your table and served a wonderful dinner, catered by It’ s Party Time that will consist of prime rib, shrimp on the half shell, mashed potatoes and garlic green beans, and I’ m sure there will be a tasty dessert too. Then you’ ll have the pleasure of hearing from a young person who will share their moving story about their adoption through Boys & Girls Aid. In the past when I’ ve been there, they’ ve also had a paddle raise where you can make a donation when different amounts of dollar categories are mentioned.
All the proceeds from the event go directly to supporting the children and youth who benefit from Boys & Girls Aid’ s programs. Many people have worked very hard through the year to make this evening a success; please come, enjoy and celebrate the Cypress Branch and the young people who have been helped by Boys & Girls Aid.
March 20, Fireside Chat: From 6-7:30 p. m., hear representatives from the city of Wilsonville discuss plans for the French Prairie Pathway Project and the care of the oak trees lining our road.
March 21, Coffee with Neil @ Charbonneau: Have you met Neil, Charbonneau’ s community safety coordinator? He’ s a super nice guy and hopefully he can answer your questions and concerns in regards to safety and security here in Charbonneau or at your home. This is an informal conversation and a wonderful chance to enhance your knowledge on the important safety topics while connecting with your neighbors. Join Neil in the lounge starting at 10 a. m.
March 26, Charbonneau Food Drive: This month, Wilsonville Community Sharing is requesting salad dressing, jelly or jam, shampoo and diapers, sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7. If you’ d like to make a monetary donation, please make checks out to Wilsonville Community Sharing. This community really helps to support WCS during these winter months when donations are usually down, thank you. Donations will be accepted on Wednesday, March 26, from 830 a. m. to 1 p. m. in the Activity Center Lobby. March 28, 4th Friday @ 5: Come enjoy an evening mingling with your neighbors, friends and a few of the Charbonneau Country Club board members.
The bar opens at 4:30 p. m. The event is from 5-6:30 p. m. in the Clubhouse Dining Room.
Heavy Appetizers will be served and a beer and wine cash bar will be available.
Tickets are $ 10 per person and can be purchased in the Activity Center at the front desk starting Monday, March 3 at 9 a. m.
