Preferred cookie recipe Egg white powder & pure icing sugar for royal icing Flower cookie cutter Paddle pop or Icy pole cookie cutter Water based food colouring - black , pink , yellow , white Piping bags ( piping tips / couplers optional ) Edible pen Dehydrator / fan or oven for drying Small circle cutter
Bake your paddle pop and sun cookies . A flower shape works perfectly for the sun .
Step 2 Make royal icing by mixing together 25g egg white powder with 1kg pure icing sugar . Then add 150ml water and beat on high speed for 4-5 minutes until the icing is thick and glossy .
Step 3 Make up outline and flood consistency in yellow and pink .. The outline consistency looks like thick yoghurt and the flood consistency looks like melted chocolate . Work with about 1 cup of icing per colour . Colour your icing first and then add a teaspoon of water at a time until your consistency looks right . If you make it too thin you can add some of the leftover thick icing to thicken it up .
