Being dog-friendly is in Six Pack Brewing ’ s bones . Sure , the name seems like a riff on convenient carry-out beer from your local packie , but it ’ s actually an homage to the number of pups the Papi family has had in its “ pack ” over the years . ( Fun fact : You won ’ t find burly bearded brewers on the meetthe-team section of its website , but rather descriptions of the six canine namesakes .) The brewery ’ s interior plays up the theme with doggie-themed “ tail-end ” purse hooks at the bar and “ Please Wash Your Paws ” bathroom signage , while its rotating beer menu features brews named after customers ’ dogs .
Four-legged customers are treated like royalty . Complimentary water bowls , treats , toys and beds are available in the taproom , plus every new pooch who visits the brewery gets their photo added to the dog wall . “ We ’ ve had a number of pups that have been coming in since they were puppies , so we ’ ll update their photo so we can share how they ’ ve grown with us ,” says owner and operator Liz Papi .
Six Pack Brewing also offers wholesome real-food treats from fellow Rhodybased company Renegade Pup for purchase , and the Renegade team is also a regular at brewery-hosted events like Barktoberfest . Other events include Howl-o-ween and Paint Your Pet nights . Six Pack is even working on hosting monthly birthday nights for local pups ( they host private pawties as well ).
“ Our love for dogs goes beyond our own and the ones that come into the taproom ,” Papi says : The brewery has a donation bin set up year-round for the volunteer-run Bristol Animal Shelter , and accepts donations of
