Centreville Bank Celebrates 195 Years

Centreville Bank was founded in 1828 by local business and civic leaders , textile manufacturer John Greene and surgeon Sylvester Knight . Located in West Warwick , the bank was at the center of Rhode Island ’ s burgeoning and bustling textile industry and commerce hub .
From those first days and continuing through today , Centreville has been committed to serving , and being a part of , our local communities . Our ever-evolving personal and commercial banking products and services , state-of-the-art technology and security , online and mobile banking , ATMs and Interactive Teller Machines ( ITMs ) all offer a modern and reliable banking experience .

The Rhode Island General Assembly grants a charter to open Centreville Bank , originally known as The Bank of Centreville .
Centreville Bank expands to open its first branch office on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry .
The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation is established , formalizing its investment in the communities it serves .
2019-2020 2022-2023 and beyond
Centreville expands its footprint with new locations in Providence , Warwick and Cranston ( Rolfe Square ), Rhode Island , as well as welcoming eight additional branches in eastern Connecticut though the acquisition of Putnam Bank .
The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation donates more than $ 1.5 million to local organizations in 2022 ( the highest annual giving total in bank history ). Centreville Bank is keeping its eye on growth and plans to open additional locations in 2023 .
