Mobile Ag Lab Visits Jersey Shore Elementary School
The Mobile Ag Lab visited Jersey Shore Elementary School the week of February 6-10 . Our third through fifth grade students were excited to visit the lab and to participate in a science experiment led by retired educator and Jersey Shore Schools Education Foundation board president , Mrs . LouAnne Gasperine . Each grade level had the opportunity to visit the ag van to be led through one- two experiments . Fifth grade students learned about the “ Magic Bean ” and how to turn “ Corn into Plastic .” Fourth grade students discovered how to make “ Glue from Milk ” and how to make “ Cream from Butter ,” and third grade students learned about “ Exciting Eggs .”
In addition to funding the Mobile Ag Lab to visit our elementary students in the district , other projects funded this year by the Jersey Shore Schools Education Foundation include a field trip to Boalsburg Museum and materials for the STEM classes at the middle school . In previous years , the foundation secured funding to purchase materials for the STEAM Classroom / STEAM Lending Library at the elementary schools , the trout in the classroom project , and the excavator simulator base at the high school .
The next event orchestrated by our Jersey Shore Schools Education Foundation will be the Harlem Wizards Basketball game being held on Tuesday , March 28th , at 7pm .
