OUTSIDE OF CAKE DECORATING / BAKING , WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES ?’ I ’ m a huge music fan , particularly heavy metal music and there ’ s not many places I ' d rather be than in the middle of a crowd , in the sun at a music festival . I have been so lucky to have travelled to festivals in Italy , Spain , Belgium , Germany and Brazil to see our favourite bands . I can ’ t wait to put a pair of drum sticks in my son ' s hands and stick him on my shoulders at his first ever concert .
WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION FOR YOUR DESIGNS ? There are so AMAZING cake decorators on Instagram who make beautiful and artistic cakes . Every time I go to make a cake , I first spend lots of time getting lost in social media looking for inspiration from others . Once I ’ ve got a rough idea of what I want to do , I never sketch it out or make a specific plan , I just start making the cake and see where we go from there !
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO SHARE WITH CAKE DECORATORS / BAKERS THAT ARE JUST STARTING OUT ? Value yourself and your cakes . I talk openly on my social media about how to fairly price cakes . A bespoke , homemade cake is a luxury item and the bakers are artists in their own right .
