Lux Sucre Desserts expands into larger Charbonneau space

Wilsonville residents and Lux Sucre Desserts owners Chanelle and Brandon Walters are upping their game with their new space in the Charbonneau community .
While they didn ’ t venture far — the new facility is in the same building as before on SW Charbonneau Drive — the new digs are nearly four times bigger than the previous location and will allow them to expand offerings to include lunch , beer , wine , croissants and other bakery items . Brandon described the new spot as a hybrid between a restaurant and a cafe .
“ It ’ s kind of a hybrid where you can hang out and stay as long as you would like in a welcoming environment ,” he said .

Lux Sucre Desserts opened at a much bigger space in Charbonneau Saturday , Feb . 12 .
a wedding caterer and didn ’ t initially have a storefront until they leased out the spot in Charbonneau in 2016 . Since then , their following in the Wilsonville community has grown — exemplified by the long lines at the grand opening Saturday , Feb . 12 . Some of the most popular staples , Brandon said , include cinnamon rolls and cakes .
“ We have developed a following in the community . We ’ ve worked with a lot of ( local ) fundraisers and things with local schools and nonprofit organizations ,” Brandon said .
With more square footage , Lux Sucre will offer additional bakery items as well as 36 flavors of tea , a broader selection of coffees , homemade breads like baguettes and focaccia , sandwiches and croissants . Weddings are still a major part of their business and the new shop will also help them continue to flourish in that realm , Brandon said .

“ We ’ re very proud of it as far as the dessert end of things and we want our other foods to match . We ’ ve hired chefs that have put together really nice menus ,” Brandon said .
There is also indoor and patio seating ( Brandon said it was the best patio in Wilsonville ) for patrons and they are open seven days a week instead of five . For more information on the shop , visit www . luxsucre . com .

Planning is ramping up for the 2022 Art
MCLAIN with Flair , Charbonneau Festival of the Arts . As previously reported , the citywide event will be held in conjunction with Wilsonville Arts and Culture Council ( WACC ) for “ Arts Across the River .” The Festival Organizing Committee is excited to be able to present the Opening Night Celebration , Fine Art Gallery and Silent Auction in the new Activities Building , and open the clubhouse dining room , card room and lounge for the artisan vendor booths beginning on Friday evening in addition to Saturday and Sunday . The Student Art Gallery will move to the Fireplace Room , featuring student art from Canby and Wilsonville High Schools . Musicians will perform in both buildings and in the outdoor pavilion . The prospect of a campus-wide event for our festival has the committee thinking BIG ! Charbonneau Country Club General Manager Jim Meierotto confirms that it will be the single largest event in Charbonneau in 2022 .
