WHEN : Tuesday , March 22 , 2022 WHERE : Zoom Video Communications ( Anywhere !!) PRESENTATION :

PFAS and the Environment : Importance of Mass Fluxes and Balances
Perceptions of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances ( PFAS ) are often focused on concentration measurements in water , with the emphasis on exposure via drinking water . Points of reference have become the low part-per-trillion standards established by certain states . However , the use of concentration-based limits for media other than drinking waters may miss important “ big picture ” considerations , such as mass flux , mass cycling , and fate of PFAS in the environment . This talk will include discussion of water as a carrier of PFAS in the environment , soil as a critical reservoir for PFAS , and the importance of air and atmospheric deposition .

Join ASCE-NH for this 1.0-PDH lecture to learn more about this emerging contaminant and its unique challenges .
