What ’ s Happening From Heidi …
March … in like a lion and out like a lamb …?
Is there any truth to this saying ? Folklore based on weather can be as colorful as our imaginations . While many sayings are based on careful observations and turn out to be accurate , not completely true , but accurate , and others are merely rhymes or beliefs of the people who came before us .
A lot of ancestral beliefs are circled around balance ; a balance in weather and life . While a month such as March can be very changeable , from spring-like temperatures to a late-season snowstorm , you can understand why this saying might hold true in some instances .
The point of this is not about coming into March roaring like a lion only to leave as docile as a lamb , but to be made aware that balance is important . Finding a healthy balance between all of the different facets in your life is important . The last few months have been nothing short of a roller coaster ride here at the Depot . The team has been pulled in many directions and then I give them more to do . They accept the challenges that I lay before them and after many hours , headaches , and even sometimes late night calls , they are successful , we are successful in our execution .
Throughout March and April , we are going to slow things down and not necessarily become docile , but take a breath or two . To keep ourselves balanced here at the office and the work that we are continually striving to accomplish , we have to slow down . We will be focusing more on the inner workings of the Chamber and what this summer will ultimately look like . We are planning on hitting the ground running at full speed the first weekend in May when the tunnel doors open .
Rest assured that we will be busy , we will be out and we will be about promoting our members and our city by “ Welcoming Businesses , Unifying our Community and Creating Possibilities ”.
“ Life is about balance . Be kind , but don ’ t let people abuse you . Trust , but don ’ t be deceived . Be content , but never stop improving yourself .” -Zig Ziglar
