LETTER FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
St . Johns Members ,
Well , we have finally dried out after one of the wettest Februarys on record . Last month , we received over twelve inches of rain in the first 15 days . I know this “ dampened ” the spirits of most , but we are moving into a great month for golf and enjoying time outside !
Congratulations to the winners of this year ’ s St . Johns Stableford . It is fun to play a unique format in a major tournament and shifts up the routine of stroke play events . Speaking of different formats , Match Play starts this month ! Last year , with the help of the Competition Committee , the Golf Staff developed a great , quick way for this event to be played . Make sure to see the Golf Shop or check online for the event ’ s details .
We are continuously looking for new ways to add opportunities and benefits for the membership at St . Johns . With the new patio and dinning space , it is exciting for us to see many of you enjoying the updated atmosphere and soon we will be adding a few membership perks for you when dining . Stay tuned later this month for a fun announcement .
Moving into spring means a lot of course preparation for our growing season . We will be pre-emerging and fertilizing the whole course in the first weeks of March . Other preventative maintenance , like mole cricket prevention , top dressing and herbicide applications will take place , too . There may be instances where tee times are limited for work to be completed . Please make sure to check with the Golf Shop frequently when booking tee times .
