So , in the end , was The Blackwater 100 truly America ’ s Toughest Race , as was popularly advertised ? Well , let ’ s just say that it was definitely a very tough event . Between the region ’ s climate where the event was held – typically very wet , the naturally difficult terrain of the area , the unexpected and unpredictable obstacles Coombs routed us through , and the vast number of riders who participated – which contributed greatly to the challenge of managing the varied obstacles , Blackwater was indeed an exceptionally difficult race to succeed at , or even to finish .
And why does The Blackwater 100 no longer exist ? I do not know
