test . The group discussed what clubs were local to who , and briefly touched on what class would be best to ride , given their improvement throughout the day .
On Sunday , the training started out in a very similar way , but then quickly escalated to big obstacles . Again , knowing the trials basics is monumental in saving points during a competition , so the first technique was full-lock turns , which all four riders managed without issue .
Next , the team moved to learning how to stuff their front tire into an obstacle and overcome the obstacle from a completely dead stop with their front wheel off the ground .
While it may sound like a silly technique , in competition , there are times where the boundary ribbon is extremely tight to an obstacle , or too close for the rider to get a nice run . When that happens , the rider " stuffs " his / her front wheel into the obstacle , leans far over the rear fender keeping both brakes on , then slips the clutch , releases the brakes , and throttles up and over the obstacle .
The key is knowing how low to stuff your wheel into the obstacle .
