to be able to move the bike where you need it . In the case of nose wheelies , being able to place your rear wheel in the correct position can help set you up for an obstacle without having to plant your foot and swing the bike around .
Then came everyone ' s favorite part : getting to work on wheelies and bigger obstacles . All four riders immediately took to these techniques . Despite not having a strong trials background , you could tell that years of other dirt bike disciplines and mountain biking translated rather well .
After a much-needed ( and delicious ) lunch of homemade tacos , the team was back at it , this time learning about sections . Quinn gave a quick summary of the rules , explaining what boundary tape / ribbon is , and what constitutes getting the dreaded five !
Using cones as boundary markers , Quinn built a tight technical section which required the riders to do fulllock turns ( or almost full-lock ) and go directly into a small obstacle , navigating other pipes and rocks , then finishing on a knee-high tree as the exit gate . After several attempts , the whole team had cleaned the section at least once .
When the day was finished , everyone was excited to try their first trials event and put their training to the
