Originally the event was called Kangaroo Rat Benefit Trial . First time held on January 14 , 1990 . In the past years we ' ve also held our February events in Romoland . Sometimes we ' d skip the January event for the lack of permits , and held a two-day events in February . And sometimes we ' d held our
February event somewhere else entirely . It really goes whichever way we can make it work , and whatever permits we are able to secure . As an organization , we remain flexible and grateful for whatever we can get .
Our February trial is called a Happy Trial . In a way it ' s meaning comes from our proximity to Disneyland [ in Anaheim , CA ] and our love for Romoland . To us , trials riders , it is the happiest place on Earth :)
