“ I charged back up to third , had another crash and back to fifth ," said Kelley . " I rode really good , but I just had too many mistakes to stay up front .”
In the Women ' s class , AmPro Yamaha ' s Rachael Archer had this event dialed in , taking the win over BABS Racing Yamaha / Fly / Maxxis / Pro Circuit ' s Becca Sheets and Factory Beta USA ' s Rachel Gutish .
“ I was last off the line then I made some really aggressive passes on the first lap and caught up to Rachel Gutish who was in the lead ,” said Archer . “ We went back and forth about three or four times and then I finally got ahead and just pulled away and put a good gap , about a minute gap on everyone else and didn ’ t look back .”
“ I am happy to come away with a third-place finish at the opening round of the GNCCs ," said Rachel . " There were definitely things I could have done better and need to improve on before the next round , but you ’ ll never hear me complaining about a podium finish ! I think this is a good sign for the rest of my season and I look forward to the next round , Wild Boar , here in a couple weeks .”
