He found his way into trials and quickly realized that it ' s not as easy as it looks , regardless how much past motorcycle-riding experience you have .
" My buddy got me into it , and I ' m like ' man , I suck at this thing ! I can ' t believe it !' Usually I can ride pretty decent , and I ' m just like ' I can ' t do anything on this .' I think that makes or breaks a lot of people with these trials bikes , because you get on it and you ' re gonna suck . You can either take that and work with it , try to get better , or you get frustrated and you stop .
When asked what he would say if someone was debating about taking the class with Quinn , he responded :
" Go for it ! For sure ! There ' s no way you ' re going to get better unless you take classes ; even the pros take classes every day . Ken Roczen , Ryan Dungey , everybody , even these guys , they take classes . That ' s what everyone does . That ' s the only way you ' re going to get better : ride with people better than you . I would definitely recommend this class any day . Plus , this facility is SICK ! I mean , look around . It ' s a motorcycle paradise ."
Creed Kisling has only been riding motorcycles for the past four years , mainly in the enduro circuit , but noticed that a lot of the top hard enduro riders had a trials background .
" I had seen Quinn on Instagram and I knew he was a trials rider . I actually watched one of his videos , I think it was the one where he first signed with Sherco , he talked about how the trials background helps him a lot , and I noticed it did because I really didn ' t know how to get over the ledges and the logs and stuff . After taking lessons from him , I can do it now , and it helps a lot !"
That was almost a year ago . Since then , he ' s taken both enduro and trials clinics with Quinn , and has even done private lessons where he was the only student .
" I would say the difference between the enduro classes and the trials classes is in the enduro class , you ride more because you ' re on an enduro bike , so you cover more distance . You do more hill climbs , you go up creek beds . The difference between the private and the group class is that the private classes is just you the whole time , so it can be a bit more tiring because you really can ' t take a break but you really do learn a lot because he can really focus on you and work with you the whole day .
