The SACRIFICED

Good day and welcome to your Kingdom Connection for March 2018- Week 4: TUESDAY! On yesterday we discussed the first utilization of the lamb. It was the blood of a perfect and unblemished lamb applied to the doorpost of the homes of the Israelites that made the death angel PASS OVER their home and not kill their first born while they were under Egyptian bondage. This was the 10th plague sent by THIER King to make Pharaoh let His people go!

Once Pharaoh let God's people go, God then begin to establish His Kingdom with multiple citizens in the earth realm. The people were becoming what God described as Kingdom of Priest in Exodus 19:6. As their King, and as with any King, laws and decrees would be established for each citizen to uphold . The violation of the laws and decrees WOULD mandate the violator be addressed. Violating the Eternal King meant violating their relationship.

In the Old Testament, God and His people solidified their relationship with a covenant. A covenant is deeper and means more than a paper or verbal contract. A covenant was an oath that required death if ever broken. The relationship would be destroyed and the curses and the type of death to the animals that were performed when the covenant made represented what would happen to the party that broke the covenant.

Since God understood mankind and their natural nature to sin, be self-centered NOT God-centered, He established a sacrificial system for His covenant people. In a nutshell, it worked as followed:

1. God , their King, established laws and decrees for their Kingdom

2. If His people violated the laws and decrees retribution had to occur.

3. A sacrifice was the way justice would

take place

4. His people would have to make a sacrifice as prescribed in the law to make amends for their sins which kept their covenant with their King in tact.

Depending on the violation, anything from grain to animals could be prescribed to address the violation. Lambs, of course, was one of them.

When it came to sin offerings, there was a process put in place.

1) The violator would have to bring a perfect and unblemished animal to be sacrificed.

2) They would present this animal to the priest

3)The violator would place their hands on the animal to IMPART their sin onto the perfect sacrifice.

4) The priest would then slit the throat of the animal and that person's sin would be atoned

5) The shedding of rigtheous blood put them back right standings with their King.
