Even if you believe in reincarnation, which is A-OK by me, you still must realize that spiritual evolution
only takes place when one graduates their spirit to the next level. If, you don’t strive and learn in your
current life, you will continue to get the same lessons in the next life and so on until you ‘pass’.
And if you don’t believe in reincarnation, then that’s fine by me too, but the sense of urgency should
be even greater because that clock is ticking and your time to make an impact on the world is shrinking
by the day.
Play this life all out, swing for the fences and have the game of your life.
Damn, there I go again on one of my tangents.
Well, if you apply the law of disproportionate action to your life, you will never fail, you will always
succeed. Average people don’t apply action without immediate gratification. We now live in a
microwave society with social justice warriors and the like looking for ‘equality for all’. Yes, I believe all
men and women were created equal but no, that does not mean equality for all in the terms of
everyone gets a trophy.
Think for a moment about a society that subscribes to the ‘everyone gets a trophy’ mentality; if we
took away the incentive for growth for the true hustlers and artists (an artist is not just a painter by the
way), then what?
If we took away the incentive for growth for the current crop of youngsters, then what? You see, it
applies to both sides, equality is a starting point, the race to your peak is on you and up to you only.
Disproportionate action means you are doing far more beneath the surface than anyone can see. It is
like the bamboo that seems to explode out of the ground from nowhere but little did you know that it
was growing massive roots (the foundation) beneath the surface the entire time.
Explosive growth didn’t just happen. It takes a tough-minded person to apply D.A to their life and to
continue to apply it when results just don’t seem to be showing up in the box scores.
I think back to the start of Newell Strength, the time period that I refer to as the ‘Wild, Wild, West’ and
how that was the most exciting time in the history of Newell Strength. I was scrapping and grinding
and applying D.A to my pursuit.
And then BAM! I was able to resign from teaching to pursue that dream full-time. People said I was
crazy and that I should wait a little longer (I even had a gent ask me last week if ‘I still had my secure
job’ because I could tell he was a little concerned with the stability of such a business, ha!). People said
those things because they were projecting their frame of action in their own life onto my life.
They did not see the D.A taking place. They did not see the amount of money invested into my
ongoing education and coaching, they did not see the number of hours before a full day’s teaching and
after a full day’s teaching that I was putting in.
