Christmas stockings. Mary was known to write lovely notes to many and always remembered birthdays. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, too, making the greatest pies and desserts and her delicious homemade doughnuts. Mary had a great sense of humor and loved music.
She was the current holder of the Boston Post Cane for the Town of Colebrook.
Mary is survived by her sons, Bradley Keazer and wife Gail, and Robert and wife Dottie, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no public calling hours. The family will have a gathering in her memory later this summer.

MELVIN COVELL
CANAAN, VT.– Melvin F. Covell, Jr., 84, of Canaan, Vt., passed away at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook with members of his family by his side on Monday evening, March 27, 2017.
He was born at the family home in Colebrook on Nov. 24, 1932, a son to the late Melvin F. Covell, Sr., and Pearl( Hazzard) Rowan. He was raised in Colebrook, and then served in the U. S. Army from 1953-54 as a military police officer.
Upon his return to the North Country, Melvin worked for awhile as a mechanic and in the woods, and then later as a heavy equipment operator for different construction companies. He worked for the town and for Sheldon Gray as a grader and crane operator, later purchasing his own grader to be self-employed for many years. He loved to hunt, especially deer, and he loved to be in the woods in Pittsburg.
He was a quiet man, and a loving father who was always there for his family.
He is survived by his two children, Charlotte Chick and husband Michael of Elliot, Maine, and a son Frederick Covell of Arizona; a brother, Joseph Covell and wife Ruth of Milford; a sister, Laura Bouthillier of New Jersey; a grandson, Justin Chick and a great-grandson, Cayden Chick; as well as his close niece and nephew, Audie Porter and Wally Covell.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Walter Covell.
There will be no public calling hours. A private graveside service at the Colebrook Village Cemetery will be held in the summer.
Paul P. Samson, Jr.
PAUL P. SAMSON, JR.
LANCASTER – Paul P. Samson, Jr., of Williams Street, died Monday morning, March 27, 2017, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster. He was 60 years old.
Paul was born in Lancaster on Aug. 12, 1956, the son of Paul P. Samson Sr. and May( Fraser) Samson. He was a lifetime resident of Lancaster other than serving for a time with the U. S. Air Force.
For several years he worked as a journeyman electrician and for 20 years was employed in the milk room on the Forbes Farm, Lancaster. Paul enjoyed fishing and at one time raising animals such as pigs, turkeys and chickens.
Family members include three children, Tanya Samson of Connecticut, Michael Samson and Brad Samson both of Lancaster; his parents Paul Sr. and May of Lancaster; a sister Judy Marier of Littleton and two brothers Jeffrey Samson of Lancaster and Dennis Samson of Whitefield. He was predeceased by a brother Kevin Samson.
A graveside service will be held in the Spring in Summer Street Cemetery. An announcement will be made at the time.

Wallace S. Harvey
WALLACE S. HARVEY DALTON – Wallace S. Harvey,
81, of Dalton Road, died Friday evening, March 24, 2017 at the Littleton Regional Hospital.
Wallace was born in Greensboro, Vt., on Oct. 18, 1935, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey. Wally was raised in Greensboro and East Hardwick. From 1958 to 1978 he served in the U. S. Army. He worked as a cook and did one tour in Vietnam retiring as a Sergeant First Class. In 1982 he became a locksmith and operated Harvey’ s Locksmith until 2010. For a time he served with the Dalton Volunteer Fire Dept. Police.
Family members include his son, Warren R. Harvey of Dalton; his daughter, Sharon Young of Twin Mountain; and grandchildren, Mark Young, Douglas Young Jr., Kristie Koltz and James Wallace Harvey. He was predeceased by his wife, Eunice M.( Thayer) Harvey in 1993.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday evening, April 1, from 6 to 8 p. m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service with military honors will be held May 20 at 10 a. m. in Cushman Cemetery, Dalton.

PAULINE ELLIOT
LANCASTER – Pauline Elliot, 82, of Forbes Street, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Pauline was born in Colebrook on April 6, 1934, the daughter of William and Rose( Taylor) Murphy.
For a time she worked as a shoemaker at Conner and Hoffman’ s in Littleton. Her favorite pastime was walking.
Family members include her sister, Elsie Dobson and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Elliot.
A burial will be held in the Spring in Forest Vale Cemetery, Jefferson, at the convenience of the family.
