On Sunday, March 26, the Sawyerville Baptist Church held a farewell
service for Reuben and Jean Pradier, who had been active members
of the church for 23 years. They will be moving soon to Montreal.

“THE PIE”
BONSPIEL
This year marks the 85th
edition of the senior men's and
men's curling bonspiel, or as it is
better known, “The Pie.” The fun
all kicked off Sunday, March 19,
with 24 teams–12 senior and 12
men's teams–hitting the ice at
both the Lennoxville and North
Hatley Curling Clubs to compete
for the Global-Excel Trophy and
the Clarke and Sons Trophy in
curling. These two trophies have
been around for many years and
are highly sought after in men's
curling in the region.
The curling stones clashed at
both rinks all week, and on the
25th, it all came to an end with
team Rourke of Lennoxville
defeating Team Genest of Lacolle
in the “A” division, and Team
Labrecque of Cowansville defeat-
ing Team Mastine of Lennoxville
in the “B” division and winning
the Clarke and Sons Trophy.
The Chronicle attended on
Saturday to watch the action of
the bonspiel. We also were on
hand for the parade of curlers up
the street lead by a bagpiper to
the Lennoxville United Church
Hall, where the traditional meal
of roast beef and all the fixin
