the spillway this past January. That water is still lingering around parts of the Lake, but should be
moving out soon. Don't be afraid of that water if it’s
in your favorite area. More often than not, that
water is just sitting on top of the good saltwater
deep water, especially with current, that fluorocarbon is the only way to
go because it sinks so fast and has more feel than mono. When jigging,
you want to throw your bait by the pylon and let it get down. When it
does, you will see the slack in your line drop to the surface of the water.
From there, you bounce your bait up a few times from the bottom and
let it slowly fall back down to the bottom until you see your line hit the
bottom, and repeat. Ninety-five percent of the time, your bites will
come on the fall of the bait. When that fish eats your bait on the fall,
you will see your line jump. That line jump can be really subtle sometimes so becoming familiar with what it looks like is crucial. Like I always
tell people, the second that line jumps, rip that fish's face. He may only
grab it for a split second, so when he does [
