Broken Pieces I remember a time when I was young and dearly in love with my Cookie Monster coin bank. I carried it around constantly, ever keeping it safely beneath my 5 year old wing. I remember my beautiful mother saying, “Aaron, honey, you should not keep carrying your bank around. I don’t want it to break.” But I was sure there was safety for that bank in my loving arms. One day, while walking up my basement steps, I dropped my Cookie Monster, and the love of my 5year old life was shattered. He was broken in pieces. There was no consolation for me, outside of the confidence I had in my mothers word who said, I will have it put back together again. In life, there will be times when things slip out of your grasp, and break into pieces, and you will be left standing there, like I was, wondering what just happened. There can be restoration for what was broken. Now as man I know of a safe place where we can be kept whole. And even if we’ve been broken, this place also offers healing. Jesus says, “I am the potter and you are the clay” (Jer 18). He declares His power to shape you and heal you. If all other options fail try the King of Kings. His word never fails.
